Size, Customization & Project Design

The right pergola size depends on the available space, intended use, installation type and required clearance around the structure. Buyers should consider the patio, terrace, backyard or commercial area layout, outdoor furniture placement, walking space, roof span and post positions. For project-based orders, site photos, drawings or basic dimensions can help define a more suitable pergola size before customization.

To prepare a practical proposal, please provide the installation location, overall dimensions, site photos or drawings, mounting surface, intended use, local weather concerns, preferred roof system, colour preference, accessory requirements, and target delivery timeline. For wall-mounted, corner, or irregular layouts, include wall dimensions, doors and windows, drainage direction, available clearances, and any site restrictions. For regulated or commercial projects, identify local wind, snow, electrical, or approval requirements early. Complete initial information makes it easier to assess feasible layouts and avoid repeated revisions.

Many project dimensions can be adjusted within the design limits of the selected system. Width, projection, height, post location, wall connection position, drainage direction, and bay configuration can all affect feasibility. These variables cannot be reviewed independently: span, post spacing, anchoring, roof configuration, local design loads, drainage, and accessory integration must be assessed together. A visually suitable layout may still require a different product series, a multi-bay configuration, or revised post positions to achieve a technically sound result.

These layout concepts can be evaluated as part of a project-specific design. A pergola may be planned as a freestanding structure, wall-mounted canopy, connected multi-bay system, corner layout, or L-shaped outdoor solution, depending on the footprint and structural conditions. Key questions include how roof modules connect, where posts can be positioned, how water will drain, and whether the supporting wall or floor can carry the required loads. For complex layouts, a preliminary drawing or site plan is strongly recommended before product selection.

For custom projects, the documentation scope should be confirmed before production begins. Depending on the project stage and agreed support scope, this may include dimensional layouts, CAD-based technical information, visual renderings, installation references, or production-related documentation. The final approved drawing or specification should define the production basis. Buyers, contractors, and project owners should verify dimensions, mounting conditions, drainage direction, roof opening orientation, accessory locations, and electrical requirements before approval. Visual renderings help communication, but production should follow the confirmed technical document rather than an early concept image.

Custom colour selection, dealer-specific configurations, branding, packaging identification, and project documentation may be possible where the product configuration, quantity, artwork requirements, market positioning, and packaging needs are clearly defined. Some requests can be handled through standard product options and approved colour programs, while others may require additional development, artwork confirmation, packaging validation, or a higher order volume. Colour availability should be confirmed against the selected system and finish process. Discuss these requirements at the beginning of the enquiry, not after technical and commercial specifications have been finalized.
